KATANA Safety announces partnership with Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, part of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
KATANA Safety is working with Bon Secours to create Clarity in Crisis, providing an extra layer of protection so the health system’s staff can worry less about their safety and more about providing compassionate care for their patients.
Home health and hospice workers often serve their communities alone, meaning they sometimes find themselves in vulnerable situations with unpredictable people, and little time to react. KATANA Safety offers these community-based employees extra layers of defense with our innovative and patented hardware called the Arc. It features two types of alarms, an app, and live, 24/7 emergency response professionals.
“It is our mission to be of service to all who need our care and help, especially the poor, underserved and dying. That often takes our staff members into remote areas they may not be familiar with, creating a sense of unease,” said Matt Caldwell, Market President of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. “KATANA’s system provides a tangible layer of security for these physicians, nurses and health care givers so they may continue to embrace the calling entrusted to them, providing compassionate healing and service as modeled by our foundresses.”
With the press of a button [silent alert] or pull of a tab [piercing alarm] on the KATANA Arc, users connect to a certified response professional that will advise them through the scenario, contact the appropriate responder, and alert the users personalized CIRCLE of SEVEN, a group of co-workers, family and friends who will be notified of the users exact GPS location.
For less dangerous but potentially perilous any-day situations, the pro-active WALK WITH ME app feature immediately connects users to a certified response professional who can track their GPS location before they embark on a journey, or, if the user feels potential danger, continue with them until they arrive at their destination.
“We are proud to have partnered with an organization that places extreme value on employee safety, and although their employees have not been involved in a serious workplace violence situation, the organization continues to invest in employee safety because they know that health care workers are 4X more likely to be victimized than workers in private industry,” said Paul Ambrose, KATANA Safety Chief Operating Officer.
