Don’t worry, we get that a lot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use the quick access device or can I use just the safety app?

Our patented quick-access device is optional; an alarm can be sounded both from the device or in the app. However, we recommend utilizing our devices as during an emergency there may not be time to open the app.

How is this different from calling 911, or using my Emergency SOS on my phone?

While 911 is specifically for extreme emergencies, KATANA Safety provides support for situations ranging from just unsettling to life-threatening. Whether you need the police or just someone to stay on the line, KATANA can help.

Does using this service mean my employer has real-time access to my location?

KATANA Safety does not actively track your location. Users must share their location so that ONLY when an alarm is triggered, the response center can view the user’s real-time location and share with law enforcement if necessary.

Will the service work without cell phone reception?

No. The only devices that can contact help without a cell signal are satellite phones that are both expensive and cumbersome. If a user does not have cell service, KATANA will attempt to ping a cell tower to signal for help.

Why does the safety device have to be attached to the back of my phone?

Attaching the quick-access device to the back of your phone reduces the likelihood of forgetting it, and with a 2-year battery life it will rarely need to be replaced.
